I collaborate with the Supernova Cosmology Project , led by Saul Perlmutter.
My prinicpal contributions are in the areas of reducing uncertainty in SNe Ia photometry, through improving how SNe are calibrated, and through studying the effect of host galaxy dust on SNe measurements
One of my favorite subjects is the whole area of calibration: how to improve the accuracy and the precision of astronomical calibration. At present, I am concentrating on the absolute photometric calibration of the WFC3, that is, with reference to an SI-based scale. SI, the International System of Units, is the system of weights and measures adopted by the international science and commerce communities, and, in which, the base physical units are: kilogram, meter, second, ampere, kelvin, candela and mole.
