My areas of interest include modeling of the thermal, ionization, and physical structures of planetary nebulae (PN) and the study of symbiotic systems which combine many of the properties of the more active binary stars and planetaries.
I have concentrated on modeling of PN in order to derive accurate chemical abundances for the emitting gas which presumably can be used to assess the nucleogenesis processes in the progenitor stars and to evaluate the impact of PN on interstellar enrichment.
For the symbiotics, I have focused on the diagnostics of the emitting gas and, currently, on the nature of the hot components.
