About Me

For the past few years I have been providing support to the most ambitious and complex space observatory ever built, NASA's James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). At NASA Goddard Space Flight Center I worked as a support scientist for the Instrument Science Integrated Module (ISIM) which is the observatory element that contains all the science instruments. During this time I participated in various cryo testing campaigns at Goddard and NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. I am currently working at the Space Telescope Science Institute as an Astronomical Optics Scientist mainly supporting the wavefront sensing and control operations of JWST during commissioning and subsequent normal operations.
My research interests are in the area of multiwavelength observations of active galaxies ranging from the radio to the X-ray. In particular, my research has focused on the analysis and interpretation, in conjunction with detailed photoionization modeling, of mid- and far-infrared spectra and photometry of active galaxies obtained with the Spitzer Space Telescope and Herschel Space Observatory, the role of star formation in the active galactic nuclei phenomenon, and also, atomic data calculations for photoionization modeling. Recently, I have been involve on the study of massive molecular outflows as evidence of feedback processes between the central QSO and surrounding starburst on Ultraluminous Infrared Galaxies (ULIRGs)
