I am a Principal Staff Scientist on the Near Infrared Imager and Slitless Spectrograph (NIRISS) team of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) and the NIRISS branch manager. My expertise and experience are primarily in the area of instrumentation and calibration of NIR detectors, and the testing and development of software for processing NIR data. Much of my work is centered around the JWST Science Calibration Pipeline, working with the developers to implement calibration algorithms and define reference file formats, and resolve technical questions related to the flow of data through the pipeline. My technical projects involve flight data analysis and calibration, calibration pipeline and tools testing, user support for JWST proposal planning and data analysis, and NIRISS calibration plan preparation.
Previously, I worked with the Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope ARray (NuSTAR) research group at Columbia University Astrophysics Laboratory, reducing and analyzing NuSTAR, Chandra, and XMM-Newton data from sources of high energy X-rays (e.g., neutron star binaries, pulsars, SNRs).
