How To Use the MAST Subscription Service for JWST Data

May 23, 2022

About This Article

The Mikulski Archive for Space Telescopes (MAST) Portal subscription service can be used to request notifications about changes in the archived data for individual JWST observations. For example, users can arrange to be notified via email when a program’s fully calibrated JWST science data products first become available, or once an observation’s exclusive access period ends. You can subscribe to any JWST observation at any time, whether executed or planned.

Subscribing is easy:  Just follow the detailed instructions in the Program Subscriptions and Notifications chapter of the Portal Guide. One way to create a subscription is to use the Action Menu for an observation, shown in the image above. Once a notification is received, click the link in the message to view the corresponding observation’s metadata in the MAST Portal.
