The 2025 program dates are June 2 through August 1, 2025.

Applications for the 2025 intern program will be accepted from January 1 through January 29, 2025. 

Letters of Recommendation will be accepted through February 3, 2025.

Stipends and Subsidies

The stipend for the 2025 program is $880 per week, which is comparable to other astronomical summer internships in the U.S. Travel and housing assistance will be provided for the 2025 SASP.

Visas

Students who are non-U.S. citizens will need a visa to work in the U.S. regardless of where their college or university is located. We provide assistance to qualified international applicants in the acquisition of appropriate visas and other work documents required to work at STScI. If you are accepted, our Human Resources department will contact you to provide assistance in obtaining a work visa.
