The 2020 Space Astronomy Summer Program ran for 9 weeks, from Monday, June 1 to Friday, July 31.
Stipends and Subsidies
The stipend for the 2020 program was $680 per week, which is comparable to other astronomical summer internships in the U.S. Travel and housing assistance not provided for the 2021 Virtual SASP.
Applications
Internships will be promoted through our Career Opportunities website. Prospective interns must be located in and legally eligible to work in the U.S. Explore opportunities.
Visas
Students who are non-U.S. citizens will need a visa to work in the U.S. regardless of where their college or university is located. We provide assistance to qualified international applicants in the acquisition of appropriate visas and other work documents required to work at STScI. If you are accepted, our Human Resources department will contact you to provide assistance in obtaining a work visa.
