Speaker: Nicole Arulanantham (Space Telescope Science Institute)

Newborn stars are surrounded by disks of gas and dust. Within these wide, thin disks, a system of planets can form. The development of material in these disks, building from dust grains to planets, is essentially the origin story for Earth and every other planet.

Dr. Arulanantham will detail how we use the James Webb Space Telescope to study the chemistry of these building blocks and explore how they evolve over time.
