Observatory Scientist
Charles is a Senior Mission Systems Scientist currently working on the NIRSpec team at STScI after many years supporting the STIS and COS spectrographs on HST. Current duties include supporting various aspects of NIRSpec's pre-launch preparations including the NIRSpec SIAF file and planning for moving target observations. Other functional interests include optimization of the STIS echelle gratings and exploring spatial trails with STIS. His recent research interests have focused on UV spectroscopy of hot stars.

- Boron abundances as a probe of stellar mixing
- Spectroscopic orbits and masses of Cepheids and their binary companions
